Taking Up Space is an outreach program made possible through individual tax deductible contributions to our 501(c)(3).

We are dedicated to increasing Native American representation and decreasing the gender gap in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) fields. We empower Native American girls to develop and pursue their curiosity, passion, and confidence through mentorship, Indigenous STEAM Education, and by sponsoring travel and a scholarship to US Space Camp in Huntsville, AL.

These beautiful fully-embroidered 4″ patches, featuring artist Brian Matney’s classic Taking Up Space logo, have been manufactured exclusively for us by A-B Emblem, NASA’s official patch supplier.

Exclusive Signature Edition fundraising patches

The latest in our series of Signature Edition patches, created with NASA legends Dee O’Hara (first nurse to the astronauts) and John Aaron (Apollo EECOM) in association with the Space Hipsters Facebook group, have just been launched. Produced in limited edition gold versions with hand-signed numbered display cards, and as open edition regular patches, they are available in exchange for a minimum donation of:

$60 for a limited edition gold patch on a hand-signed display card (or $100 for both).
$15 for a regular patch without display card (or $25 for both).
$3 for a high-quality vinyl sticker ($5 for both).

$50 for a limited edition silver patch on a display card hand-signed by astronauts Nicole Stott, Eileen Collins, or John Herrington.
$15 for a regular patch without display card (all astronauts).
$3 for a high-quality vinyl sticker (all astronaut designs, plus Taking Up Space logo).
